Lake Erie: July 24, 2010

Port Stanley: East side – 11:15 AM. A tiny Yellow Warbler. Like the Eagles, they are much more active and visible now that the young birds are on the go.

Port Bruce: 3:30 PM. The gulls are smart enough to stay off a restless, storm-threatened Lake. Not the people, of course.

Port Stanley: East side – 5:30 PM. Another heavy shower today has soaked the cliff face and smoothed it out more. The weather is warning of severe storms to come and maybe tornados. No thanks! We're good!

Lake Erie: July 23, 2010

Port Stanley: East side – 10:15 AM. Still more heat and humidity with storms threatening all day.

Port Stanley: East side – 5:00 PM. The Lake continued to chew at the shoreline all day and sounds like it's still at it. If you click on the photo you can just see that there was an Eagle in one of the trees on the cliff edge. We're seeing them more often again, now.

Port Stanley: East side – 5:00 PM. The back end of the storm that went through this afternoon. It rained hard with fairly close lightning but still not too bad.

Port Stanley: – 8:45 PM. The sun is trying to push through for a spectacular sunset but the clouds were just too much and the evening slipped into darkness, with thunder rumbling over the Lake. This second line of storms was more intense than the earlier one but it veered out over the lake, making a spectacular show.

Lake Erie: July 22, 2010

Port Stanley: East side – 11:00 AM. ...and another steamy day.

Port Stanley: Harbour – 8:30 PM. The weather radar is showing threatening weather on the way but who knows if we'll get any here. Oh - as I just wrote this, it's started to rain and a fresh breeze is stirring. Hmm - now it's stopped.

Port Stanley: 8:30 PM. From my garden.

Lake Erie: July 21, 2010

South End of Iona Road: 4:45 PM. Spotty thunder showers here and there today with magnificent clouds. I seemed to miss all but a very short shower - hardly worth turning on the wipers but it made everything quite steamy.

Lake Erie: July 20, 2010

Port Stanley: East side – 7:45 PM. After a cool night, most of the day was overcast. Then it cleared and was hot and sunny, as usual.
Port Stanley: East side – 7:45 PM.

Lake Erie: July 19, 2010

Port Stanley: Harbour – 11:00 AM. We finally had a rather intense storm roll over us last night. Thunder and lightning fairly close and swirling winds driving the rain through the windows on all sides of the house and continued persistently through much of the night. The power was out for several hours - thankfully it wasn't as hot and muggy as it had been over the past week so closed windows and the loss of my ceiling fans was endurable.

Port Bruce: 1:30 PM. A day at the beach.

Port Stanley: East side – 5:00 PM. Cooling down after a pleasant day. Serious looking clouds are made lovely by late afternoon light and distance.

Lake Erie: July 18, 2010

Port Stanley: East side – 10:45 AM. Another day of a restless Lake. The stormy weather isn't over yet.
