Lake Erie: March 10, 2010
Port Stanley: East side – 10:15 AM. Swans! I heard them out over the Lake yesterday at Long Point and today here they are. These were flying in from the south-east over the Lake. They rest here a while on their way North and you can often find them feeding in last year's corn fields. If you're lucky enough to see them, stop for a bit and listen. A soul-wrenching sound that rivals that of the loon, the haunting call of the Tundra Swan is a sound of spring I can't get enough of.
Port Stanley: Harbour – 1:30 PM. The guys have been back out fishing for several days now.
Port Stanley: East side – 4:45 PM. Rain coming - just a shower for tonight but real rain for the weekend that will freshen everything up. True spring cleaning.
